Software (Image + BSP)

The dart BCON for LVDS Development Kit comes with a pre-loaded SD card. The image on the card contains everything you need for a smooth start with the development kit. Besides a bootable Ubuntu Linux operating system with drivers and libraries for the control of the dart BCON for LVDS camera, the package includes a preconfigured FPGA image pipeline as well as a copy of Basler’s pylon Software Suite.

In case you want to customize the system from a software point of view or just want to have a look into the associated source files, then you should download the board support package for the dart BCON for LVDS Development Kit from The package contains an Ubuntu Linux distribution with all required drivers, a Vivado FPGA project as well as a pylon example implementation for the software connection of the dart BCON for LVDS camera to the Basler pylon Software Suite.

when using the remote desktop connection don't forget to turn off any IT security policies on your laptop which may block it. And check firewall settings to allow RDP to get through.

in pylon viewer, by double-clicking BCON camera in a list, no images are shown. How to solve this problem?

the first thing you need to make sure is to activate the single shot or continiouss shot mode. Both options can be found in the top bar menu next to the save icon. Please try this first and let me know in case you still do not see any images.

I've been trying to follow the quick install guide for the basler powerpack for embedded vision but i have hit a wall near the end of the process. I have successfully connected to the processing board using remote desktop and launched pylon Viewer from the processing board, but the BCON camera is not listed under the Devices pane. As a result, I am unable to connect to the camera and all the camera options are greyed out, including "Continuous Shot" and "Zoom to Fit".

On further experimentation, I found that I can use bconctl to turn the camera on and off, but when I try to use bcongrab I get a message saying "No device is available or no device contains the provided device info properties"

Please advise on how I should go about troubleshooting this problem, thank you.

Just to check, are you powering the devkit from the ac adapter, or by only the USB cable?

I ask because the usb cable will only supply enough for the microzed board, but not the camera.

Also, how does the LED look on the camera, is it on or off?

Hi all, I actually managed to troubleshoot the issue on my own. Turns out it was a very silly error, the DIP switches on my carrier board were in the wrong configuration. I set them right and now the camera works fine.
